Nathan Wong

Environmental Law Scholar – Class of 2024

Originally from the San Gabriel Valley, Nathan Wong is passionate about environmental justice and the intersectionality of environmental law with other social movements. He graduated from UC Davis with a degree in International Relations, Environmental Policy and Planning, and Sociology.

In his first year at UCI law, Nathan worked in the Land Use and Conservation Section of the California Attorney General’s Office working on California Environmental Quality Act issues. He’s excited to gain experience at Earthjustice this summer in the California Regional Office.

Now a 2L, Nathan is a research assistant to Professor Joseph DiMento examining racial impacts in the construction of and opposition to urban freeways, as well as other topics within land use law. He is also working with CLEANR for a future roundtable to address the gap between California’s housing goals and climate goals. Nathan is a member of the Environmental Law Clinic and the Asian-Pacific America Law Students Association.

Currently, Nathan is Vice Chair for the Environmental Law Society and is building a website for future students who are interested in pursuing environmental law in law school. Outside of law school, he loves hosting dinner parties, thrift flipping, and fishing.
